January 2022: The Driveway Choir project helped many choruses to sing together live during the COVID-19 pandemic, when it was otherwise unsafe to rehearse and perform. A new documentary called "The Drive to Sing" follows the story of car choirs during the pandemic.

In 2020-2021, musical groups are looking for ways to sing and play together while following social distancing recommendations to avoid spreading COVID-19. We've tried Zoom/Skype and we've tried virtual choirs, and they are better than nothing... but it doesn't compare to making music together live. The Driveway Choir project has grown into a community of musicians who have found ways to sing together live, with no latency, using audio gear.

Within this site, you will find videos of musical events, links to news articles, the story of how it all began, and more information on how it works and what groups are doing it.
